Blog Improvement Project

This is week one of the Blog Improvement Project. This weeks project is goal setting and one of the things that we were asked to look at was the purpose of our blogs. I have stated that the purpose of this blog is to record the things (good or bad) that make up my life. In other words this blog is not just about being an educator, but that is part of it. It is not solely about relationship, adventures, or books, but they are also pieces of the puzzle. I still feel that we all have interesting stories to tell; however I realize it is not an easy thing to tell them with the same emotion with which we experience them.

This year I intend to work on the content and niche of my blog. The purpose of this blog is general and broad which means that without structure the content is all over the place. To get on track I am setting the following goals:

1. Post three time a week (these can be done in advance and scheduled to post on a future date)

2. Schedule a reflective educational post for Wednesdays and post about books every Saturday

3. Interact with other bloggers by participating in challenges, joining groups and forums, and posting comments more often

  1. Anonymous6:27 PM

I like the idea of trying for a certain number of posts per week. Something like that is going to be one of my goals, whenever I get around to writing them down :)

Also, The Time Traveler's Wife is one of my favorite books too!

    Kim (Sophisticated Dorkiness)

  2. I too like the idea of setting a goal for a certain amount of posts pr. week. But like I have mentioned in other comments, I have a major thesis that needs to be finished late spring this year (which is a major goal in itself!) and until then I am trying not to set goals like "do x-number of posts" or "read x-number of books" pr. week/month. But that doesn't mean I don't like those goals, and I will eagerly follow your progress here.

    Happy New Year

  3. I, too, like the "post three times a week" goal. Maybe I should do it as well.

    Have fun with blogging!

  4. Blogsider, I usually set goals that involve doing a better job in specific areas (for example, I will keep my home cleaner this year). This is the first time I have set a such specific goals, but I felt that it was necessary in this case. My success remains to be seen :)

  5. I love your blog design-it's so pretty. :) (Although I find it difficult to read the black text-but I can just highlight it and then it's fine!)

Anyway, those are good goals-I really like the scheduling option too. So much easier to blog regularly!

  6. Oh, I love your Robert Frost quotation! That is one of my favourites :). I am also a language teacher, by the way (teach young Danes English).

I think your blog is very beautiful, but it is not very easy to read the text on the blue/brown background (I wonder whether white or red letters might be better?)

  7. A few people have commented on the difficulty they had reading black text on this background. I am going to experiment with different colors. Please let me know if the new color makes things easier.

  8. Much easieer to read today :)
